REMINDER TO FAMILIES ABOUT WEATHER AND OUTERWEAR
This is a reminder that students go outside during recess every day unless the temperature is below zero with the wind chill. Please send your students with the appropriate outerwear. Please write your student’s name on items to prevent from losing them. Staff are not responsible for lost items.
Lastly, it is vital that students know how to put on their own items, such as jackets, boots, gloves, and hats. Staff allot time for students to put on their gear before going home. It is important to have a conversation with your student about doing their job at the end of the day since we do not have the staff to individually assist each student. It is also important to talk about leaving gear on when riding the bus and making sure we take all items with us when we arrive at our stop.
LORING LEADERS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING
The last day for Loring Leaders is Thursday, December 11th. Applications for the next session will be sent home next week. Next session will begin on Tuesday, January 20th and go through May.
LORING WINTER FAMILY SING-A-LONG AND 70’S DAY:
Save The Date For Our Sing-A-Long! Friday, December 19th at 1:15 PM.
This is the last day of school before winter break. You will have the opportunity to sign out your student before you enter the event. Hope to see you there!
In addition it is our 70th day of school and we will celebrate by dressing in the 70’s era style.
We’re proud to announce that our school has been selected to participate in the MPS Reads Program this year! Through this exciting district initiative, high school students from Camden High will visit our K–2 classrooms once a month to read with our students and lead engaging, themed lessons.
This month marks the official launch of the program, featuring a story and activity focused on Native American history and culture. Each monthly visit will highlight a new theme tied to that month’s heritage celebration, giving our young learners meaningful opportunities to learn from older peers.
We are honored to be chosen for this partnership and look forward to the wonderful learning experiences it will bring to our classrooms.

Is your closet feeling a little lighter lately?
Our Lost and Found has officially turned into a department store! We are currently housing nearly 200 lonely items in the main entrance foyer.
From winter gear (hats, gloves, hoodies) to lunchboxes and water bottles, we likely have something that belongs to you. Please stop by the main foyer and reunite with your missing gear.
Important: Any items left behind after school on Friday, December 19, will be donated to charity. Come grab them while you can!

- CPEO – Connecting Parents to Educational Opportunities
- Early Child Hood: Hi-5, three school
- Professional Development
- Direct Instructional Services
- Remedial Instruction Services: Reading, language arts, mathematics, study skills
- Additional teachers and teacher aides
- Lower instructor to learner Ratios
- Out of School Time Programming
- Instructional Materials, Digital Learning
- Truancy Reduction Programs
- Bilingual and bicultural programs
- All Day Kindergarten
Send Kids Prepared for Colder Weather
We’re a month into fall and the cooler temperatures have arrived. Please make sure your child comes to school dressed for the weather each day. Students go outside for recess whenever possible, so jackets, hats, and other warm layers help keep everyone comfortable and ready to play and learn.
NURSE’S OFFICE NEEDS YOUR HELP
Our nurse’s office is low on extra clothing for students who need quick changes during the day. We especially need:
- New underwear, socks, elastic-waist pants, sweatshirts/sweaters (sizes 3T–7)
- Winter gloves, hats, and jackets
Please send donations to the main office labeled for the nurse. Thank you for supporting our students!
